Started off as a prestigious novel project under the leadership of KFOG president Dr Kunjumoideen and secretrary Dr Subash Mallya.Was proud to be elected as the chairperson of this committee and worked under Dr Suchithra Sudheer and Dr Subash in 2025 to 2026 and is continuing for the next 2 years to come.

I would like to thank all the KFOG members for trusting my work as an editor and allowing me, another tenure in the role of Chairperson-Academic committee.

Introduction: The Research committee of KFOG was formed as a committee of KFOG to exclusively function to promote research activity among the members and institutions. The aim was to bring in the current knowledge and updates to the clinical practice and modify the practice protocols effectively, based on the research outcomes of the projects, undertaken by the committee from time to time.

The newly formed medicolegal committee is the latest kid on the block in KFOG. Under the able leadership of Dr Subash Mallya, this committee will be a boon for all members .It will help members to get updated regarding latest developments on medicolegal front and will also be of help to members facing medicolegal situations in day to day practice.

Greetings from oncology committee Vision and mission -- make Kerala cervical cancer free We are working hard to reach the WHO’s call for eliminating cervical cancer by 2030. Targets include Vaccinating 90% of girls below 15, 70% of women undergo screening by high performance test at 35 and 45 yrs and 90% of women with cervical disease should get treatment.

The Reproductive Health Committee works to provide reproductive counselling for planned families, healthcare and conducts information dissemination sessions for members of KFOG.

THE KERALA STORY
Kerala has been a pioneer in strengthening maternal health systems in India through the implementation of a confidential review mechanism for maternal deaths—an initiative that remains one of the first and most sustained efforts of its kind in the country.

Goal - This committee works under Safe motherhood committee whose aim is to ensure the safety of each and every antenatal woman. The ultimate goal is to eliminate all preventable maternal deaths.

PPMD Committee
Prevent the Preventable Maternal Deaths (PPMD) is a training and retraining for doctors and nurses in the delivery units at all levels in Kerala. Established by Dr V.P. Paily for KFOG and coordinated by Dr Neetha till Feb 2025, it was a success and helped spread the message of protocol -based handling of the major causes of maternal death.

The Endoscopy Committee is a brand-new addition to the KFOG, launched in 2025 under the able leadership of Dr. Suchitra Sudhir and Dr. Subash Mallya. In this era where gynaecological endoscopy has become a first-line surgical option, this committee was much needed.

As the Chairperson of the Family Planning Committee, I am honored to present an overview of our mission, responsibilities, and ongoing efforts to promote informed and healthy family life within our community.

Midlife Committee under the aegis of KFOG was formed in the year 2025. Dr Reshmy J R was elected as the first Midlife Committee Chairperson.Recognizing the oversight in prioritizing midlife women’s health, the Committee’s focus is on early cancer screening, lifestyle disorders, and urogynecological issues.

The Urogynaecology Committee of Kerala Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (KFOG) is committed to promoting excellence in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of pelvic floor disorders across Kerala.
